Assisting attorneys and their legal assistance by performing secretarial duties using legal terminology, procedures, and documents.
Prepare legal papers and correspondence, such as petitions, judgments, citations, deeds and sales documents to collect delinquent property taxes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process legal documents and papers, such as worksheets, petitions, deeds, interrogatories, amended petitions, judgments and sale information.
- Mail, fax, or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials.
- Receive and place telephone calls.
- Organize and maintain documents, and case files.
- Schedule and make appointments.
- Make photocopies of correspondence, documents, and other printed matter.
- Assist attorneys and legal assistants in collecting information such as addresses, deed information, worksheets etc - Draft and type office memos.
- Type letters or correspondence - Procuring Information- Working on special projects on an as-needed basisCommunication- Requires contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, or otherwise)- Requires face-to-face discussions with individuals - Requires writing letters and memos- Requires telephone conversations- Requires use of electronic mailKnowledge:
- Law and Government- Property tax laws, legal codes, and court procedures, and government regulations.
Requirements Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint- Extensive experience in office administration and exposure to administrative support responsibilities in a senior management environment- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills- Notable proofreading and typing skills - Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and handle simultaneous assignments with success and accuracy Possesses strong interpersonal skills, leadership, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills.
