JOB SUMMARY
Provide active supervision of a group(s) of children in an Afterschool or licensed day care program. Adhere to program policies and standards including safety, cleanliness, attendance and dress code standards. Assist in planning, organizing and conducting daily curriculum, games and activities. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions. Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, other staff, and school representatives. Ensure proper check-in and check-out procedures are followed and assist in maintaining proper records. Respond calmly to urgent or critical situations. Provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring and faith. Support the mission, purpose, and goals of the YMCA while performing job duties.
Essential Duties & Functions
Assist in planning, organizing and conducting daily curriculum, games and activities.
Achieve Annual Assessment Score Average of 85% or higher (minimum 2 assessments per school year).
Maintain compliance with all TDPRS regulations to ensure proper care and no deficiencies.
This position is for the duration of the school year with summer employment potential. Great for college students!
Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
HS Diploma/GED required per Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) guidelines for licensed childcare.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date (in house training provided).
Must maintain a minimum of 15 clock hours of continuing education in a related field.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
At least 18 years of age, unless in an approved school Co-op program;
Ability to provide active supervision of a group(s) of children in an Afterschool or licensed day care program;
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive relations with children, parents, other staff, and school representatives.
Must possess enthusiasm, high energy and exceptional human relations and motivational skills;
Must work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions;
Must be able to build rapport and relate well to children, parents and peers;
Ability to assist in planning, organizing and conducting daily curriculum, games and activities for youth-focused programs;
Ability to respond calmly to urgent or critical situations;
Knowledge and understanding of community resources and how to relate these to maximize their utilization to help the YMCA meet goals;
Commitment to the purpose and mission of the YCMA of Greater Williamson County.

The employee frequently is required to stand or walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to moderately noisy. Work environment includes the need to be able to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings, including sunny/hot and cold weather.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
